Trans Video Store posters (set of 3)
This set of three posters were meant to be evocative of a video rental store–but in this case all the films have transgender-related content. The posters contain black and white digital drawings of VHS and DVD covers roughly to scale of the original packages. The list of films used to create the drawings were sourced from a list of titles solicited from friends and extended online communities.
They were made especially for the fourth iteration of MOTHA’s ongoing exhibition project “Trans Hirstory in 99 Objects,” which is currently on exhibit at the Portland Art Museum. This iteration focuses exclusively on moving image work. The 90 drawings, split into three broadside posters, paper the gallery walls, and are also folded as take-aways for all gallery visitors.
